Privacy Policy — Tensor Golf

Tensor Golf is designed to keep your data on your device and in your own iCloud account. This policy explains what little data we do collect, why, and how it is used.

Data We Collect

Tensor Golf collects only one category of data from users:

Device identifier — a randomly generated UUID stored on your device. This identifier is transmitted to our licensing server when you activate a trainer or student licence code, solely to prevent a single code from being used on multiple devices.

This only applies to users who activate a licence code. The vast majority of users have no data transmitted to our servers at all.

Data We Do Not Collect

The following data is used by the app but never transmitted to Tensor Golf or any third party:

Location (GPS) — used on-device to track shots and display course maps. Stored only in your private iCloud account.
Health & Fitness — step count and distance from Apple HealthKit are read on-device only and never leave your device.
Round & course data — all scores, strategies, and course information are stored in your private iCloud account (CloudKit). We cannot access this data.
Name, email, or contact info — we do not collect any personal contact information.
Payment information — subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.

Third-Party Services

Tensor Golf uses the following third-party services:

Supabase Hosts our licensing backend. Receives device identifiers only from users activating a trainer or student licence code. Privacy policy.

Cloudflare Proxies course data API requests. Requests are transient and not retained for identification purposes. Privacy policy.

Apple CloudKit Syncs your rounds and courses across your devices via your private iCloud account. Only you can access this data. Privacy policy.

Apple HealthKit Read-only access to step count and distance data, used on-device only. Never transmitted outside your device. Privacy policy.

Tracking & Advertising

Tensor Golf does not track users, display advertisements, or share data with advertising networks or data brokers.

Data Retention

The device identifier stored in our licensing system is retained only as long as your licence code remains active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

Tensor Golf is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
